Our Storied History as an Austin Tennis Academy

Carlos Di Laura joined the St. Stephen’s Tennis Academy in 2003. He holds certifications by USPTR, USTA, and the RPT. His instructional experience includes coaching Peru’s Davis Cup team, as well as professional tour players, including Luis Horna, a top 30 ATP singles player. In addition, Carlos had an accomplished career on the ATP Tour of his own.

Under Carlos' direction, Di Laura Tennis Academy has developed over 50 players to NCAA DI and top D3 programs. 

  • Di Laura worked with Nevin Arimilli for six years, who was ranked No.1 in Texas in the B16 and B18 divisions. Nevin now plays at the University of Texas at Austin.
  • Di Laura worked with Fernanda Contreras, who represents Vanderbilt University and is ranked in the top five in the nation.
  • Di Laura worked with with Jake Hansen who reached a high of No. 1 in the B16’s and B18’s nationwide.
  • Along with coaching some of the top collegiate athletes, Carlos has also worked with ATP World Tour players such as Luis Horna, Ivan Miranda, and Rodolfo Rake.

In 2023, St. Stephen's Tennis Academy became the Di Laura Tennis Academy, Austin's premier tennis academy. Stepping out from the Saint Stephen’s legacy, DTA is all about opening our doors wider, inviting tennis enthusiasts from all walks of life to experience our elite training. Our courts, our team, and our heart remain the same, nestled in the scenic Hill Country of Austin. We’re here to uphold a legacy of excellence, now with a broader horizon, ready to embrace every tennis dreamer out there.

A fun introduction to the fundamentals of tennis!

This group is meant for players brand new to the game. The focus of quick start will be on ball contact, correct grip usage, footwork exercises, and most importantly – a fun introduction to the fundamentals of tennis!

A fun introduction to the fundamentals of tennis!

This class will focus on developing the fundamentals of tennis, basic technical instruction, as well as an introduction to competition. JD players will be encouraged to participate in the USTA Junior Circuit and L7 tournaments to kickstart their tennis journey.
